Haul Privacy Policy

Haul is an iPhone app for shopping lists, errands, a weekly grocery budget, pantry stock, and meal planning. This page explains what stays on your phone and what is sent to AI providers so the app can sort dumps and read photos.

What the app collects

Haul only works with what you put in it:

• List items, notes, prices, pantry stock, meal plans, and places you type or import
• Photos you take or pick: receipts, products, handwritten lists, fridge or pantry shots, supplier quotes
• Voice dumps, if you use the microphone. Speech is turned into text on device, then treated like any other dump
• Location, if you allow it. Haul uses it to pick the current place and to nudge you near a store that still has items on your list
• Settings such as currency, weekly budget, and store names. Those stay on the device

To sort dumps, read receipts, identify products, and plan meals, Haul sends the text or photo you just submitted to OpenRouter, which routes the request to models such as Google Gemini. Those requests are the content needed to do the job. Haul does not send your Apple ID, contacts, or a Haul account, because there is no Haul account.

Where it is stored

Lists, receipts, stock, and meal plans stay on your iPhone in the app's local database. Haul does not host your lists on a Haul server.

What we do not collect

• No advertising ID, no tracking across other apps
• No analytics SDKs, no crash reporters that identify you
• No contacts

Location

Location is optional. When-in-use location helps Haul switch the active place. Always location is only used if you turn on store nudges, so Haul can notice when you arrive near a saved store. Location is not sold and is not used for ads.

Children

Haul is a household shopping tool. It is not directed at children under 13.

Retention and deletion

Deleting the app from your phone removes local lists, photos saved in the app, and settings. OpenRouter and model providers may keep copies of requests for a limited time under their own policies. If you want help removing local data, email mikeshobes718@gmail.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change. The latest version will always be at this URL.
