Clip Privacy Policy

Clip is an iPhone app that records a voice memo or takes a video or audio file you pick, then uploads it to a Media inbox you configure so you can transcribe or describe it later. This page explains what stays on your phone and what is sent to that inbox.

What the app collects

Clip only works with what you give it:

• Voice memos you record in the app
• Videos and audio files you pick from Photos or Files, or share into Clip from another app
• The inbox URL and API key you type in Settings. Those stay in the iPhone Keychain
• Settings such as appearance, auto-copy, and whether large clips may use cellular

When you send a clip, Clip uploads the file bytes to the inbox URL you configured. The default inbox is a private Media server the publisher hosts. You can change that URL in Settings. Clip does not send your Apple ID, contacts, or a Clip account, because there is no Clip account.

Where it is stored

The upload queue stays on your iPhone until a clip is sent or you clear it. After upload, the file lives on the inbox you configured, for as long as that inbox keeps it.

What we do not collect

• No advertising ID, no tracking across other apps
• No analytics SDKs, no crash reporters that identify you
• No contacts, no location

Children

Clip is a personal utility. It is not directed at children under 13.

Retention and deletion

Deleting the app from your phone removes the local queue, Keychain items for Clip, and settings. The inbox you configured may keep uploaded files under its own policy. If you want help removing local data, email mikeshobes718@gmail.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change. The latest version will always be at this URL.
